Dr Rahul Pradhan

Dr. Rahul Pradhan is a fellowship-trained Uro-Oncologist based in Bhubaneswar, specialising in the surgical management of urological cancers.

After completing his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, he went on to pursue his MCh in Urology from the Institute of Medical Science, Bhubaneswar. He then completed a prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowship in Uro-Oncology and Robotic Surgery at Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation, Bengaluru — a 540-bed tertiary referral cancer centre performing over 800 uro-oncological procedures annually.

During his fellowship, Dr. Pradhan trained as a Da Vinci Robotic Console Surgeon at one of India’s top 5 centres for Robotic Radical Prostatectomy, and one of only 3 centres routinely performing the Retzius-Sparing Radical Prostatectomy — a technique with significantly better continence outcomes. He has performed over 300 major robotic uro-oncological surgeries and has been part of the Intuitive Proctorship Programme, training new robotic surgeons at institutions across Bangalore.

Dr. Pradhan is currently serving as Consultant Uro-Oncologist at Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre, Bhubaneswar, bringing world-class surgical oncology care to patients in Odisha.

Dr. Pradhan is certified by Intuitive, USA as a Da Vinci Robotic Console Surgeon. He trained at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital on the Da Vinci-X system — among India’s top 5 centres for Robotic Radical Prostatectomy and one of only 3 centres routinely performing the Retzius-Sparing Radical Prostatectomy, which delivers significantly better post-operative continence outcomes.

He has also served in the Intuitive Proctorship Programme, helping train new robotic surgeons and launching robotic surgery programmes at Manipal Hospitals and Vydehi Medical College, Bangalore.
